Top Trends from the Logies Red Carpet!
Australian fashion was out in full force at the 2017 Logies – fitting for such an occasion – and a welcome return to red carpet fashion! I loved so many of the looks this year, and the trends on the carpet have given me plenty of inspo for the season ahead. Here are my favourite trends from the Logies this year!
SEEING RED
From bright crimson to deep ox blood, red was not only the colour of the carpet, but the hue of the night! Carrie Bickmore in Paolo Sebastian, Sophie Monk in Galanni, Delta Goodrem in Steven Khalil, and Kate Jenkinson in Jason Grech all opted for the bold colour, and easily earned their spot on best dressed lists.
GOLDEN GIRLS
Another major trend on the carpet this year was glittering, embellished gold dresses. My favourites on the night were Anna Heinrich in Steven Khalil, Scherri-Lee Biggs in custom Misha Collection, and winner on the night, Jessica Marais in J’Aton Couture.
WHITE OUT
Crisp white gowns are always going to make a statement on a red carpet, and matching the clean colour palette with structural tailoring? Heaven. I loved Christie Whelan Browne in Zhivago, Jessica Mauboy in Toni Maticevski, and Georgia Love in Cappellazzo Couture.
PRETTY IN PASTEL
While I’m usually drawn to bold, strong colour palettes, one of my favourite trends from this year’s Logies was the new pastels hitting the carpet. From soft floral prints (like Lauren Phillips’ Con Ilio gown), Jodi Anasta’s sexier take (opting for J’Aton Couture), or Rebecca Harding’s princess moment in Cappellazzo Couture – I loved the return to floaty, flirty, feminine looks.
