What to Wear This Christmas Season!
The holiday season is quickly approaching, and with it a host of parties and catch ups to attend, but with that comes the dreaded question of what to wear! From backyard barbecues, to drinks with the girls to the office christmas party, it can be daunting to find the perfect outfit, but I’ve taken the hard work out of it and put together a guide to cover you for the entire festive season!
WORK CHRISTMAS PARTY
The work christmas party is always a little tricky – wearing something too close to your office attire will make it seem like you’ve forgot about it, or too far removed might send the wrong message. The trick is to keep it simple and leave the drastic hemlines at home. I love Asilio’s Over Influence Dress and Daniel Avakian’s Nikki Dress for events like this. The midi length is perfect and both styles are classic silhouettes (with a twist!). Add a stiletto heel and bold red lip to complete the outfit and you’re sure to stand out from the crowd!
DRINKS WITH FRIENDS
Before everyone heads to be with their family, a catch up with the girls is always on the calendar! This is a time to have some fun with fashion – after all, women don’t dress up for men, they dress up for other women! I love Misha Collection’s Justine playsuit and the Liberty dress from Alice McCALL. In a festive colour palette, they’re fun, flirty, and perfect for the party season!
BACKYARD BARBEQUES
Now the weather is warming up, the invites to catch ups in the sun are surely not too far away! This is an occasion you never want to be too overdressed for, but that doesn’t mean you have to subscribe to shorts and a singlet! For a casual event like this, I love the Marie Ange off-shoulder mini from Aje and the pairing of the Two Lanes skirt and cami from C/MEO Collective. Easy, breezy, and still fashion forward, these picks are casual, but not boring!
CHRISTMAS DAY
The two main things you need out of a Christmas day outfit is light fabrics and room to eat! The best option? Floaty silhouettes in a crisp colour palette. I love Manning Cartel’s Impulsive Graphics tunic and the Eyes Wide Shut mini from Mossman Clothing – just add a chunky heel and minimal accessories and you’re set for Christmas lunch in comfort and style!
